K Sports Education and Training are delighted to announce a partnership with Southern Water for the 2018/19 academic year, which will see the organisations work closely together to deliver water efficiency and safety messages to primary school children across Kent.
The Traineeship and Apprenticeship programmes at the K Sports facility in Cobdown, Kent, will support young learners with a passion for sport gain valuable experience in primary schools, as Teaching Assistants and Sports Coaches.
Each student has a 12 week course of work experience, and in advance of these placements, they were asked to design an education project which focuses on Southern Water’s campaigns to promote water efficiency and safety. The group then presented their ideas in a “Dragon’s Den” style feedback session.
Southern Water’s Community Engagement Manager Beverley Thompson said:
“The creativity of the groups is so inspiring. Their ideas will certainly get our messages across to children in a fun way. Southern Water is focussed on education, and supporting K Sports apprentices is an innovative way of supporting young people in their chosen careers.”
Adam Lawrence from K Sports Education and Training said:
“We are delighted that Southern Water has been so supportive of our Traineeship programme. Not only have our learners benefitted from the experience as part of their studies, but the positive message will spread through our partner schools also.”
The learners enjoyed the experience and were able to utilise some of the process for their NVQ in Activity Leadership studies.
