This year there are a number of events and occasions being arranged across the country in celebration for this year’s NHS70th birthday. K Sports is proud to be supporting one such event at Lee Valley Hockey Centre on Thursday 28th June.
On behalf of NHS Improvement and NHS England, two of our K Sports Hockey club members Karen Swinson and Fiona Percival are organising a celebratory hockey match for the NHS V the Royal Navy. Karen will captain the NHS team and Fiona, the Royal Navy!
With a firm belief in the power of sport, K Sports is proud to sponsor this event with our friends at CLS. CLS helped K Sports put down the foundations of a brand-new hockey pitch, enabling more players like Karen and Fiona to enjoy playing hockey.
Encouraging the workforce to take care of themselves is one of the focus areas of the NHS 70th celebrations and as it’s never been more important to keep our workforce, both mentally and physically, fit and active, K Sports is delighted to be involved.
The match will be a mixed men and ladies hockey team with a national representation of NHS players and the venue, given the forthcoming hockey world cup is a great stage for this event.
Organiser and K Sports Hockey player Karen Swinson said;
“ Fiona (Commander in Royal Navy) and I both play for K-Sports at county level 3 and what started as a social game for the 70th celebration has escalated beyond belief to a National stage, with the best National and Conference level players joining up around us. We’re really looking forward to the day and are so pleased K Sports is supporting us.”
Chief Executive of K Sports, Alan Dennington added;
“We’re pleased to sponsor this brilliant event to celebrate the NHS’ 70th birthday whilst supporting two of our own hockey players. The vision behind K Sports has always been to create opportunity for more people to reap the benefits and power of sport. Events like this highlight the unifying effects of sport and I wish everyone taking part, good luck!.”
