K Sports is proud home to a number of sports clubs including football, hockey, squash and bowls. Having constructed a floodlit stadia-style 3G playing surface for football, a floodlit sand-dressed surface for hockey, netball and other sports is on its way, as K Sports continues to create opportunities for people to get active.
K Sports FC (formally known as APM Contrast and APM Holtwood) run three senior and 16 junior sides. The intention is to progress the adult senior team through the leagues as far as the new facilities will allow which is currently Ryman South; K Sports FC currently play in the Kent Invicta League. The club’s other sides will be developed and the whole club will achieve Charter Standard Development Club Status.
There are currently two squash courts at Cobdown and the club has a vibrant and active membership. We intend to construct brand new courts (replacing the two in existence), one of which will be a glass show court, and to create a new and bigger squash club that will be capable of hosting national and international competitions.
Cobdown Hockey Club was forced to leave the facility several years ago due to new pitch requirements and play their matches 10 miles away. The purpose of the NEW sand-dressed surface is so they can make a welcome return; the facility will be one that will allow them to progress to the national league. The club has a vibrant membership and strong leadership and the development will allow them to grow membership and increase participation.
