As part of our #SummerOfSport, we’re looking back on K Sports’ first year hosting a range of teams from across different sports. We’re using the occasion to celebrate their success and progress playing and training at one of Kent’s best multi-sport facilities.
K Sports’ clubs aren’t the only ones who use the facility, with a number of different teams calling us their home. This includes Invicta Sunday FC.
Invicta Sunday FC is a men’s Sunday football team who play in the Maidstone and Mid Kent Sunday Football League. They have been in existence since 1990 and have enjoyed playing at Cobdown, now K Sport Cobdown since September 2009.
The team have had to show real togetherness this season, managing to sustain their position in Division Two. One thing that has gone from strength to strength, is their ethos is for like-minded players to be able to play football for fun as long as everyone still enjoys playing.
The club officials’ commitment to making it as easy for the players to play as possible continues. Players simply need to turn up with their boots, shin pads and match fees. From there on it’s all about having fun.
Invicta Sunday FC Secretary, Angela Reed said;
“We have always enjoyed the facilities at Cobdown, particularly being able to meet in the bar after games. We have held many of our end of season presentations there and we are looking forward to our end of season presentation on 17 June.”
“We have also hired the 3G pitch for a match made up of past and present players, followed by the use of the function room for a get together and awards.”
