Dame Kelly Holmes was among a number of charitable cyclists taking part in the Goatham Great Kent Cycle Ride in support of Help for Heroes, pedalling through K Sports on Friday morning.
The endurance event will take cyclists across the county over three days. The first pit stop, organised by our friends at the Kent Sports Trust, was at Cobdown and we were delighted to welcome Dame Kelly and the other impressive athletes taking on the challenge.
Fresh from his trip to China participating in the Snooker World Cup, K Sports very own Barry Hawkins was on hand to ensure participants were refreshed and refuelled with protein shakes, water and jelly babies!
K Sports Chief Executive Alan Dennington was also on hand to welcome cyclists and expressed his delight at sponsoring the event.
“We were delighted to get involved with the Goatham Great Kent Cycle Ride. When Kent Sports Trust made us aware of what was taking place, we jumped at the opportunity. It was fantastic to see so many people taking part on the first day and welcoming them to our facility. We are dedicated to creating the best multi-sport facility in Kent, so to have the chance to speak with like-minded people from the county and showcase our work so far was brilliant.”
“All the participants looked fresh and enthusiastic at the first pit stop, I wish them all the best and hope their energy and enjoyment continues over the next three days.”
