It’s been a very busy summer of sport here at K Sports. It’s hard to believe we celebrated our 1st birthday in June, kick-starting our first proper summer season here.
Whilst the football season concluded, we’ve continued to enjoy a busy period welcoming many new faces over the past few weeks. Whether they’re making the most of our Daylight Savings on the 3G, popping by to have breakfast and watch The Lions, or are glued to Wimbledon whilst tucking into our food and drink specials.
Our aim has always been to create a hub for sports lovers and enthusiasts; whether that is in a participatory manner or otherwise. We’re building fantastic partnerships with a variety of organisations to host exciting events, and one particular highlight this year, has been our sponsorship of the Goatham’s Great Kent Cycle Ride.
Hundreds of riders are set to take to their bikes for the nominated charities and ride around the county, giving keen cyclists and complete novices the chance to ride just 1 day or all 3 days.
We are so excited that on Friday 14 July, the riders will be taking their very first pit-stop here at K Sports. We’ll be greeting riders with a very warm welcome at around 9:45am. Riders, who include amongst them, Dame Kelly Holmes MBE and Geraint Jones MBE.
We’d like to invite you to join us in giving these incredible individuals a proper K Sports welcome when they cycle through Cobdown. I’m extending an open invitation to you to join us and help hand out refreshments to riders as well as dish out encouragement next week. You’ll be joined by our very own Barry Hawkins, fresh from his World Cup endeavours in China.
I’d like to thank the team involved with the Goatham’s Great Kent Cycle Ride, in particular our friends at Kent Sports Trust, whose devoted work to changing lives through sport in Kent is something completely in sync with what we’re working towards too. I look forward to seeing our collaborations grow from strengh to strengh, and K Sports play host to even more of the most groundbreaking sports events in Kent.
Finally, best of luck to everyone taking part next week. Especially our competition winners who were rewarded for following us on Twitter and Facebook with a complimentary place to take part in this challenge. I look forward to hearing how you found it!
